Use OPC 53 where early strength matters: footings, columns, beams and the roof slab. PPC sets slower and gives a smoother, less crack-prone finish, so it suits brickwork mortar, plaster and flooring.

Coarse, washed sand (Zone II) goes into concrete and masonry mortar. Fine Yamuna sand gives a smooth plaster. Ask for a silt check on site: a jar test above 8% silt means the load should go back.
20 mm is the workhorse for footings, columns and beams. Blend in 10 mm for slabs, lintels and anything with tight rebar spacing. Angular crushed stone from Shivalik crushers bonds better than rounded river gravel.

Fe 500D is the default for homes. The "D" means extra ductility, which matters in Panchkula's seismic zone IV. Fe 550D allows slightly less steel on heavier commercial frames, if your engineer specifies it.
